1963 Ford Thunderbird

The Krispy Kreme Cruise-In is the show that keeps on giving.  Today I present this almost perfectly restored 1963 Ford Thunderbird.  Although it is not quite my cup of tea, I had never seen this year before in person and it was probably in factory delivery condition.

I talked to the owner and got some of the story of this car.  It was originally white but he wanted something a little different so he decided to have it painted “Desert Rose”, which was an available Ford color in 1963.  The best way to describe it is a very, very light pink, but with a slight beige tint to it.  It looks right for the time, and works in a way on this car.  He also pointed out the leaning steering column, which was a rare option.  If you look closely in the interior photos you can see the steering wheel leaned to the right to ease entry and exit.
