Hoover Krispy Kreme
Hoover Krispy Kreme

I know I drivel on and on about the Krispy Kreme Cruise In.  Or should that be Kruise In?  It is attracting some seriously unusual and/or rare machinery.  To give you an idea of what I mean, here is a partial list of what I can remember from this month’s Kruise In, and remember that there were less than 50 cars there.

October 4, 2008
1932 Buick Coupe
1932 Buick Sedan
1952 Crosley Super
1956 DeSoto Firedome Convertible
195? Willys-Overland Jeepster
1954 Ford F-100 Pickup
1954 GMC 150 Pickup
195? Pontiac Chieftan Coupe
195? Packard Sedan
1954 Oldsmobile 88 Coupe
1955 Ford Convertible
1955 Chevrolet Panel Van
1960ish Studebaker Lark 2 Door Wagon
1960ish Austin Healey 3000
1960ish Austin Healey Sprite
1962 Buick Lesabre Sedan
1964 Pontiac LeMans Coupe
1965 Mustang Convertible
1970ish Dodge Dart Swinger 340 (Purple!)
1980ish Pontiac Trans Am 6.6
1980ish Camaro Z28

Remember this is a partial list from a true “cruise in”, not an actual promoted show with registration and awards.  I have been to many car shows with 100+ cars that did not have this much variety.

Notice anything missing? You know that any time 3 or more cars gather a Corvette will magically appear. There were 6 that I counted, probably more, but the oldest one was a nice early 70’s T-top coupe. Next month I’m going to take extra camera batteries and a pen & paper to write down all the cars and the exact year.  Let’s hope the weather is nice.
