Back before the Maxima became a 4DSC, it was just another midsize Japanese car. And almost every 80’s Japanese car was square. For that matter, most of the American and European cars were quare also. So what was my point again? The best thing about the second generation 1985-1988 Maxima seen here was that you could also get a wagon!
Anyway, it seems strange to me that I don’t see more of these on the road. Since these were much nicer cars than the Sentras and Stanzas I would have thought that more would have been taken care of and kept running. But what do I know. Check out the high-tech electronic door lock! I’m not sure if these preceded Ford’s or not, and I’m not going to bother looking it up. But I think it was a few more years before Ford started putting these on everything that didn’t have an “Escort” badge.
