Well, not exactly my Protege, the wife’s. Of course since she has had the Accord wagon for over a year now she needs a new car (and brain, but that’s another story). We decided to go cheaper and ended up trading the Accord wagon on a lovely little 1997 Mazda Protege LX like the one seen here.
It was a 5-speed stick so it got 30-something mpg and was a fun car to drive. But it didn’t stay long. We have reached the great divide, the end of Wife 1.0. In the divorce she got the Protege, I got the S-10. She drove the Protege for another 2 years or so, then traded it.
I’m sure you are thinking, “great, maybe he’s getting near the end of this lame saga.” NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! I actually think we are about at the half way point, but I haven’t looked at the list that closely. We are just now into 1998, so we have 10 more years to go. At least for a while the vehicles will get a little more interesting.
