You don’t see these everyday. At least where I live. I saw something sitting far off a side street in an undeveloped industrial area two days in a row. I had a little free time at lunch that day so I went to investigate.
I was just minding my own business driving down the road at lunch time last week and happened to glance over at the parking lot of a decent local Mexican restaurant. I had to look back twice to make sure I really saw what you see here, and when I realized what it was I had to go back and get some pictures.
How often do you see a RAMPAGE? I’ve seen the same Ferraris and Lamborghinis several times in the last few months. But it’s been 18 months since I’ve seen another RAMPAGE!
I’m stretching the limit of affordable, but this would be within the range of most who really want one. This early Viper is just begging for some serious action. I ran a KBB value for a 1995 Viper with 50K miles, which is probably a good guess for this one. The “Private Party” value: $28,000. So this one is probably a decent buy. This is the first Challenger I have seen. It was nice to finally see it in the flesh, to get an idea of the scale. It would be interesting to see it beside an original Challenger/Charger, I suspect this is quite a bit smaller. The Challenger is definitely longer than the current Mustang, and possibly a little wider. But it’s not as large as you would expect from photos. Continue reading “2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8”
O.K., I know all of you have been wondering (or maybe not) what is going on with this little blog. As some of you know I have a little side project going on that is taking every minute of my spare time, and also the work time that I was taking doing this little waste of time. Or maybe it’s just spring fever. Continue reading “SOTS Walkabout”
O.K., so I missed yesterday. I was spending way too much time fiddling with the website for my 20th high school reunion. But today I will make it up to you with this wonderful 1978 Dodge Aspen stationwagon. Don’t you feel better already?
At first glance these appear to be “K Cars”, but that is not quite true. I bet there are a bunch of shared parts, but technically this is a larger platform designed after the K. According to WikiPee the “conservative” styling was on the orders of Lee Iacocca, who apparently was trying to kill Chrysler after saving it only a few years before. Here’s one I actually know a little bit about. The owner works with me at Advance so I see this one on a regular basis. It has the weak but bulletproof slant six engine and auto tranny, column shift of course. I doubt the bucket seats were stock but who knows, I forgot to ask him. But he drives it daily, so major props for Mikey.
