Here’s a 71 Chevelle that I saw at the Dixie Vintage Auto Club show. I do not know if it’s original (probably not), if it is a true SS (probably not), or came with the 454 (probably not). I just don’t care. I LOVE this car. This is everything a muscle car should be, and I bet it is incredible to cruise around in this thing with the top down.
World of Wheels: 1968-1972 Chevrolet Nova
February 13, 2009
In honor of Valentine’s Day tomorrow I’m going to pay a little tribute to a car that I loved. Yes, it’s my first car. The Chevrolet Nova had only a few trim/option changes between 1968 and 1972. The red 1968 Nova coupe you see here is almost perfect, I would only add the black & chrome side molding from the yellow car, which my Nova had also.
A Car Child Seat in 1971?
January 5, 2009I had no idea they actually made child seats for cars in 1971. I had no memory of any car seats at all when I was a child. Like most other 30+ year old people I actually rode for many miles on the shelf in the back window of the car. If my parents had to brake hard I would fly off and land in the back seat, usually on my little sister. As a surprise Christmas gift my parents had old Super 8 movies copied to DVD and gave me and my sister copies. I had never seen these before, and had no idea that there was much film of me as a child. I watched them last week and was SHOCKED to see this bit showing me sitting in a car seat!
